"My Personal Assistant Handled It"

What makes a great personal assistant?

Personal assistants are not a one-size-fits-all introduction at our agency. Each client's needs are different- and we work to understand exactly what your goals are so we can match you with the right fit for your lifestyle, business, and home.

Before we dive into the details: professional personal assistant care through our agency typically ranges from $25-35+ per hour, plus our placement fee. This investment reflects the expertise of thoroughly vetted professionals who bring unique strengths to your family. Our higher rates reflect the exceptional candidates we present - individuals with glowing references who often bring additional skills like:

★ Fluency in multiple languages
★ Years of experience with driving value in businesses and homes
★ Specialized training in email management, organization, calendaring, etc...
★ Expertise with specific age groups or situations
★ Advanced education
★ Strong track records of long-term employment relationships

Importantly, these competitive rates lead to stronger, longer-lasting placements.

We're with you every step of the way

Getting to Know Your Family

A thoughtful beginning to a beautiful partnership
Every great match starts with understanding your family’s world. First, you’ll fill out our family application—your initial step toward clarity and calm. From there, we invite you to a warm, friendly conversation to ensure we’re the right agency for your needs.

Once aligned, we move into a deeper, 90-minute discovery session where we learn your routines, values, parenting style, and hopes for the ideal caregiver. Together, we’ll craft a personalized job description that reflects exactly what your family needs to thrive.

The Matching & Hiring Journey

Where expertise and intuition come together
With your family’s story at the center, we begin reaching out to trusted professionals who align beautifully with your needs. We curate a shortlist of candidates who not only meet your criteria, but who also feel right for your home’s energy and rhythm. You’ll receive our comprehensive interview guide to support meaningful conversations with each candidate.

When you’re ready, we provide polished hiring templates to help you craft the perfect offer. And once your nanny joins your home, our relationship doesn’t end—we stay connected, offering ongoing support long after the match is made.

Do personal assistants mind occasionally helping with my child?

Nope. PAs do it all. Preschool teachers often laugh about days where the PA vs. the nanny comes to pick up kids from school. It's definitely "substitute teacher" vibes, but the children are familiar with this person and this person is a very active part of their family dynamic and household.

Many PAs will sub in for household staffers who are on PTO or are taking a sick day! This is part of their job description!

Is Southern Standard Nannies able to accommodate short-term placements with personal assistants?

We CAN- but PAs prefer at least a one year commitment. Here's why: the nuance of your home, business, and children is an ocean of specifics. Onboarding a PA is a heavy lift because they have your passwords, send emails on your behalf, know your drycleaner by name, know how to fold your towels and where to get your shoes cobbled. This data transfer takes time and we prefer to support families looking for long term support so they don't have to re-train someone multiple times a year.

The GREAT personal assistants know all of this and will prioritize long term roles as they are interviewing with our firm.
