WHAT TO EXPECT ONCE YOU APPLY:

Phase I:

To be eligible to apply for jobs through SSN, all candidates must carry the status of "represented candidate".  All candidates will first complete an Application.  Our team will review your application and may reach out to schedule a phone interview if your application meets the minimum requirements.

Phase II:

Next, Applicants who qualify will be asked to complete a more in-depth application that covers their past experiences, caregiving or work style, as well as preferences in future roles too. We'll collect an updated resume and any letters of recommendation at this step too. Applicants in this phase will also schedule a virtual interview with our Candidate Specialist at this time.

Phase III:

Once applicants have completed a successful interview, our team will begin contacting their professional references. During this phase, candidates are also assessed on their professionalism and communication so far.  Representation status will be evaluated after this step. 

Phase IV:

Candidates will be evaluated by the SSN team for consideration of representation. For those that make it through the vetting process and become represented candidates, they will now be eligible to apply for positions through SSN.   SSN coordinates all interviews, trial days and conversations leading up to potential job offers. All job offers are contingent upon running and receiving a clear background check which is run during the trial/offer phase.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

ALL CANDIDATES MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING TO BE CONSIDERED:

 

  • A minimum of  3 years of paid childcare-related work experience from age 18 and on (i.e.nanny, teacher, preschool/daycare professional) Work performed for a family member does not count towards this total.

  • Current or Immediate *certification in CPR & First Aid *we only accept AHA or Red Cross 

  • Outstanding professional work references within the past 8 years, we require 3 as a minimum but may ask for more. No family members

  • Current, professional resume including all relevant childcare/household experience in pdf or word format (resumes are not accepted in the body of an email.)

  • Legally able to accept employment in the United States

  • At least 21 years of age

  • Clear criminal background check  + safe MVR check

  • Professional communication at all times 

APPLICATION ENHANCERS:

  • 1+ year of consecutive experience working with the same family

  • Letters of recommendation from former positions (these may be required for specific positions.

  • A degree in a related field 

  • Unique skills or talents that translate well to working with children

  • Completion of the INA Basic Skills Assessment  

  • Travel experience with a family & current passport

  • Membership in a professional nanny or educational association
