COMPASSIONATE, GENTLE + CONFIDENT NEWBORN CARE SPECIALIST/NIGHT NANNY FOR FIRST-TIME PARENTS

NCS08

Location: East Nashville, 37206
Pets: None

These first-time parents are expecting their little boy in early August. They are looking for a NCS to join their them immediately following his arrival to assist with overnight care for about 4 nights per week. The first two weeks may require more days, but they anticipate staying around 4 per week for the first 8 to 12 weeks, or until he’s sleeping longer stretches at night. These parents have been working hard to build their careers as lawyers and will need to return to work relatively soon after his birth. They are an easy-going could who will lean on their NCS to educate them, help them understand baby’s needs, and set them up with best practices for a smooth transition into parenthood.

SCHEDULE
4 days per week, preferably starting the evenings of Saturday, Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday but remain flexible to the right fit’s availability.
Shifts hours: Flexible for 10 – 12 hour shifts
Start date: ~ August 10, 2024 (due date) Looking to have someone confirmed at least 8 weeks prior to start
Duration: 8 – 12 weeks, but open to extended ad hoc beyond that for overnights before an out of town trial or big deposition.

THE DETAILS

As first time parents with no nieces or nephews, this couple admittedly doesn’t know much about welcoming their little one into the world and will be leaning on the expertise of their NCS and eventually their nanny to help guide them through the early months of this new chapter! Mom plans to nurse early on, but will see how it goes. The NCS will be responsible for all overnight feedings after the first week, and they plan to have baby sleep in the nursery with the NCS on the nights on duty. Overnight duties will also include replenishing the changing station, cleaning bottles or pump parts, changing bedding, and occasional baby laundry.

This couple is looking for a lot of guidance and support given their inexperience with infants. They find a gentle, supportive, and compassionate approach works best with them, and having patience for them and baby will be essential. Having a guide to even help them prep before baby arrives would be most welcome, including how to’s with swaddling, diapering, bathing, feeding, and more. They are looking for an experienced person who has worked with first time parents before and understands how new this will be. They won’t have help from extended family, so they are leaning in to finding the right fit who can be a guiding light through these first few weeks with their only child.

The position will likely taper off as baby starts to sleep longer throughout the night, however they would be open to a continued ad hoc arrangement for overnight shifts if both parents have out of town trials or big depositions to prep for. Good sleep will be essential for their performance in the court room!
