Location: Nashville, TN 37205

Schedule:
● May - August: 4-5 days per week (weekdays or weekends) for 2-4 hours per session
● Starting in August: Saturday + Sunday for 2-4 hours + 1 week day afternoon for 2 hours
● Ideally able to make a 1 year commitment through August 2026

Compensation: $25 – $50/hour depending on qualifications & experience

Overview: A family is seeking an experienced and engaging tutor to prepare their 3.5-year-old son for kindergarten and support his application process to an elite private school. The ideal candidate will implement a balanced approach that incorporates academic learning, fine and gross motor skill development, and activities that cater to his inquisitive, sensitive, and curious nature.

Responsibilities:
● Design and execute a curriculum that covers foundational academics (letters, numbers, colors, shapes) and skills such as writing, pre-reading, and early math.
● Develop activities that strengthen fine and gross motor skills, preparing the child for kindergarten-level expectations.
● Assist with learning and reciting important addresses, telephone numbers, etc.
● Incorporate creative approaches, such as music or play-based learning, to engage the child’s interests.
● Plan sessions in various settings (home, park, library) to promote versatile learning experiences.
● If possible, provide transportation for the child to and from learning locations (home, park, zoo, library) or school pickup.
● Collaborate with the family to track progress and adapt strategies as needed.
● Communicate with the child using positive discipline strategies.

Qualifications:
● Experience in early childhood education, tutoring, or a related field.
● Familiarity with kindergarten readiness skills and private school application processes.
● Patient, engaging, and adaptable to the needs of a sensitive and curious learner.
● Reliable transportation preferred but not required.
● Degree in Early Childhood Education
● Classroom teaching experience in Private Pre-K, Kindergarten, or First Grade.
