Adoring new parents to a sweet baby girl born July 2024 are looking to partner with an experienced infant nanny to care for her throughout the week. They are a two-Physician couple of who at Vanderbilt with rotating schedules that vary from 90 hour weeks to 10 hour weeks, and about 1 day per week of working from home. They foresee themselves getting along best with a positive individual with a dedicated work ethic. They are an easy-going couple who are excited to make new traditions together as a family of three.

SCHEDULE DETAILS
This is a unique position where the hours will vary week to week, but the schedule is known 2-3 months in advance.
- Work hours will fall between 6 AM at the earliest to 6:30 PM at the latest.
- Work weeks vary from 25 hours to 60 hours.
- A 60 hour work week could be expected ~1x per month from 6am – 6pm M-F, with the other 3 weeks
ranging between 25 - 37 hours/week.
- The family is open to discussing how to guarantee hours a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis with
candidates to ensure a consistent income.

START DATE: October 28, 2024
DURATION: 1 year initial commitment, there is a possibility to extend if it’s a good fit

Key Responsibilities

- Partnering with the parents to raise their little girl and be an extension of the love and care they provide her when not at work.
- Applying the Taking Cara Babies approach by offering gentleness and safety and also encouraging independence in sleep and self-soothing.
- Committing to making sure baby feels loves, comforted, and supported throughout the day.
- Ensuring her daily needs are met with nap time, diapering, feeding, and enriching play/wake time.
- Follow safe sleep policies and practices
- Creating a rich environment for baby to learn and thrive that includes developmentally appropriate play, as well as talking, reading singing, and engaging with.
- Keeping baby’s belongings tidy, cleaning up after baby/the day, washing her bottles and dishes, and doing her laundry bi-weekly.
- The family is requesting that no screen time be allotted during baby’s first year.
- Taking baby out for walks or outdoor playtime in nice weather.
- Communicating with the parents and keeping detailed notes to share the daily happenings with the parents.

REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 3 years of professional childcare experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with infants
- Experience starting care for a baby at 3 months old
- Enjoys working with infants
- Strong communication skills
- Alignment with the family in the Taking Cara Babies method
- Non-smoker/vaper
- Clean background check
- Updated tDap immunization

COMPENSATION
Hourly: $25 - $28/hr gross, applicable overtime for weeks over 40 hours
PTO: 3 weeks
Paid holidays off + sick days: offered
Guaranteed hours are offered, but are TBD based on what works for all parties given the variations in the schedule.
