This close-knit family seeks a professional career nanny or governess who brings a positive, proactive work ethic to enhance the lives of their two little ones, B3.5 and G1.5. Both parents work as anesthesiologists, making reliability and dependability essential traits for their ideal candidate. They are looking for a seasoned professional who can take on all aspects of a full-charge nanny role and is interested in growing with the family for years to come.
Their children are their top priority, and the parents place a strong focus on their well-being, education, and upbringing. A nanny who is skilled in patience, creativity, and kindergarten prep is their ideal fit.
SCHEDULE
Hours: 40 hours per week, scheduled between 7:30 AM and 6 PM
Schedule Development: Created two months in advance, with any final adjustments provided 1-2 weeks ahead. The family values flexibility and is happy to extend the same to their nanny.
Guaranteed Hours: 40/week
Start Date: Flexible/ASAP
Duration: 2 years minimum, with opportunities for growth within the role
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide full-charge childcare for B3.5 and G1.5.
• B3 attends school M-F until 12:30. Care includes morning drop-off and pick-up at 12:30.
• The nanny will be responsible for both children in the afternoons.
• Support the children in meeting their developmental and educational milestones, including physical goals like potty training and gross/fine motor skill development
•. Providing enriching kindergarten prep for B3.5 including learning the ABCs, counting, and building a foundation for reading. He does not currently get this at his preschool as it is more social/play based.
• Monitor meal times with the children with food prepared by the family's chef.
• Develop activity-driven daily plans: The family values outings to local places such as the zoo, Cheekwood, and parks, balanced with engaging home-based play.
• Encourage and actively engage in play the children enjoy while introducing them to new activities. Dance parties are a favorite among the siblings!
• Foster the children’s natural curiosity with patience and enthusiasm. These little ones love asking questions, a pattern the parents encourage and welcome and expect of their nanny as well.
• Communicate confidently and professionally with all adults in the home, including the family's chef, housekeeper, and grandma who will be involved to help with logistics from time to time.
• Be adaptable to changes in plans and welcome parent involvement in activities whenever possible.
• Maintain a positive and optimistic outlook and work ethic.
• Handle child-related tasks such as washing the children’s dishes, doing their laundry, and tidying up after playtime or messes.
• Align with the family’s gentle, authoritative parenting style, which emphasizes communication, explanation, and collaborative problem-solving.
• Enforce house rules (e.g., no eating outside the kitchen, no shoes in the house). B3 is a rule follower, while G1 is still developing her personality as she grows more mobile!
• Drive the children to and from school and activities. Mileage reimbursement is provided. (For reference, the school is a 5-minute drive from their home.)
• Reinforce societal norms, manners, and act as a positive role model for the children.
REQUIREMENTS
• Minimum of 3 years of professional nanny experience
• Longevity in former jobs
• 3 years of experience working with children ages 3-5 years old
• 3 years of experience working with children 1-2 years old
• Experience working with siblings of similar ages
• Bachelors or Master's Degree in Early Childhood Development
• Professional teaching experience in preschool, kindergarten, 1st, or 2nd grade.
• Flexible with the schedule (strict “8-4” or “9-5” schedules won’t meet the family’s needs due to monthly variations)
• A reliable and safe vehicle to use for work
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
• Non-smoker

COMPESNATION
Hourly: $25 - $35+/hr depending on qualifications
PTO, Paid Holidays, Sick Days: Offered
Health insurance stipend: Offered
