Flexibility: occasional amended hours to cover a weekend day or evening, with notice.

ABOUT THE FAMILY

This warm, progressive family welcomed their first and only child at the beginning of the year, and is seeking an experienced, nurturing, and proactive Family Assistant to join their household and play a pivotal role in their daughter’s early development and their success as involved parents. This vibrant family values authenticity, reliability, and heartfelt connection and is looking for a caregiver who will truly integrate into their lives as a trusted partner. They have cherished their team of doulas who have helped them survive since their daughter’s birth and would look to closely emulate that dynamic with their next hire. The ideal Family Assistant should be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in this dynamic setting. Their eight-month-old daughter is a joyful and energetic baby who loves physical closeness and thrives on attention. She has GI issues, and food sensitivities that the family is actively monitoring and working with specialists to resolve.

The Role can be divided into one of two options;

OPTION 1 is a 50/50 Nanny + Household manger role, which would require the expertise of a candidate having years of infant experience and either a doula or NCS credential. The ideal candidate for this option will bring a balance of experience, sensitivity, and enthusiasm to support baby + family’s unique needs, while contributing to a fun and enriching environment focused on balancing baby’s needs when mom need to step away, or the needs of the home and family when mom is with baby. Typical household management tasks will involve washing dishes and bottles, assisting with light laundry, prepping and/or cooking simple meals for the family OR baby’s meals, and light housekeeping like unloading the dishwasher, wiping counters, or organizing an area that needs attention.

OPTION 2 is a 90/10 Household manager + Nanny role, with the majority of the position focusing on caring for the family as a whole and stepping in for short periods of time with baby while mom pumps, showers, or steps out for a quick appointment. The ideal candidate in this role would help daily/often with cooking, washing bottles and dishes, assisting with laundry, running errands, completing basic household chores and housekeeping tasks (no deep cleaning), manage deliveries and unpacking items or groceries, and maintaining a tidy and organized home.

● Is nurturing, detail-oriented, and proactive, with a “can-do” attitude.
● Demonstrates confidence and sensitivity to the needs of others.
● Embraces a "no task is too small" mentality, understanding that the family values support in managing household and family needs that may occasionally be overlooked due to the baby’s primary care demands, while ensuring that any requests remain within the reasonable scope of the role.
● Thrives in a collaborative environment with a SAHM and WFH dad.
● Can anticipate regular family needs, without direction, once familiar with them.
● Complies with the family’s request for a fragrance free-home in order to best support baby who is highly sensitive and irritated by them.
● Balances physical play and intellectual engagement to promote development.
● Has the ability to work in a home with frequent trips up/down stairs
● Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

REQUIREMENTS

● Minimum of 3 years of childcare experience
● Candidates seeking option 1 must have a doula or NCS accreditation
● Ability to physically engage in tasks, including floor play, carrying the child, and light household duties.
● Non-smoker, drug-free, with no criminal record (background check required).
● Comfortable in a fragrance-free environment while at work and does not bring or wear anything scented to work.
● Up-to-date on childhood immunizations and Tdap. Vaccinations such as flu and covid are strongly preferred but not required.
● Comfortable working in a family environment that embraces diversity and upholds progressive values.
● Able to sign a non-disclosure agreement.

COMPENSATION:
Hourly: Option 1 rate range $30 - $40/hour gross, Option 2 rate range $30 - $35/hour gross depending on qualifications
PTO, Paid Holidays, Sick days: offered
Health insurance stipend: offered
